Are We Giving Out All the Potential God Created us with?
We all have been created with an ability but many people do not recognize it. Some even think they are “good for nothing” and don’t try to look for it. They might think, perhaps also on the mean suggestion of others, they have no chance in this world and rather leave it, and take their life even without trying. That is bad because we are rejecting an “aid”, and that is being ungrateful. I’ve heard people say things like: God gives hats to people with no head, I usually answer: He wants them to find it to be heroes, but they think that’s impossible. I personally know people who have the potential to be something great and for bad choices become losers; people who were born on a “gold crib” and decided to obey the wrong people or desires and lost it all. Those are Satan’s purpose followers who will not humble enough to know they have to ask God for help thinking they know it all.
On the other hand there are people who know they have certain abilities but use them for the wrong purpose, perhaps because they give them better income. But “income” does not give you forgiveness or eternal life when you are in the wrong side. That is why we should look to be on the right side and seek the only way which is Jesus, the Son of God who said: “This is the will of my father that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I myself will raise him up on the last day.” (John 6.40)
We have talents in different levels but some don’t use them to their giver’s honor, for whatever reason. They will get what they deserve, though. Do you know what it is? Jesus said a parable in Matthew 25. 14-30. That is the lesson of the talents, read it and find out what our destiny will be if we don’t do the right thing.
God created this world for us to take care of it, and gave us all authority to rule it, and the only ONE thing He said no to, we disobeyed, because the adversary (Satan) whose idea was to destroy God’s good intentions for us lied to the woman and she believed him. And since she’s our mother we all became sinners, but God loved us so that He sent His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John3.16b)
Many lessons Jesus taught were in form of parables, reason for which when I read the Talent one, I decided on doing something since I was told by teachers I was effective at writing. I tried at many things I liked with no success but I kept on trying. Once we had a hurricane and that day I read the first chapter of the prophet Nahum and wrote about the power of the Lord against who devises against Him. I gave my commentary to a newspaper owner I met and he liked it. From then on I wrote a column on his paper on the power on knowing the truth.
Jesus is the truth that makes you free of being frightened in any circumstances and when I wanted to give out the Potential my Creator gave me I started hearing my Master’s voice: “Well done good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.” (Matthew 25.23b)
