What are we afraid of?
I read today an article about the illness which affects Hugo
Chavez, the President of Venezuela. His doctors told him that medical science
could not do anything else for him. The article says he cries as he asks Christ
to do a miracle on him.
I would like to tell him, (if he reads my blog), and also to
all those who wait to the last minute to pray to God, that Christianity is
not an amulet to keep you safe in the
misfortunes. It is not something that you use only when you need it. It is a
WAY of LIFE you practice every moment when you believe Jesus’ teachings and do
good to others, not only the ones who think like you, but to all, like He
did; preaching with our attitude, yet
avoiding an affiliation with those who are on Satan’s payroll. Christ does not
discriminate among people or groups and true Christians should do the work
Jesus asked: “Go into all the world and preach the gospel (the good news) to
all creation. (Mark 16:15) He did not say we had to associate with
terrorists to justify them or imitate their crooked doctrine, but to preach to
them and give them the good news of salvation. If they are not Christian and do
not accept me for being one, it is up to them. Some day, not very far, they are
going to wish to have Christ and us too in their favorites list for the time
draws near when “ the sons of the kingdom (of Satan) will be cast out into the outer
darkness; in that place there will be
weeping and gnashing of teeth.” (Matthew 8:12)
Jesus also said: Love your enemies.(Mathew 5:44) Not
hate them like the socialists teach. And: Bless those who curse you, pray for those
who mistreat you. (Luke 6:28) Remember
Jesus words on the Cross: Father, forgive them; for they do not know
what they are doing.” (Luke 23:34). He did not tell us to humiliate or
insult anyone on a microphone at the UN where the whole world would hear.
There, it is precisely where you had to demonstrate what you, supposedly,
believed in.
The Cuban Medical Science might not be able to help you, but
God can. There is nothing impossible for Him. If you believe in him and really
repent from your sins, you will be saved, eternally. And if you confess Him
publicly asking forgiveness, by doing something great for your people, before
you die, like putting off the economical help you give the true enemies of the
people who oppose God and Christ; and return all you have stolen, like Zaccheus
did, perhaps God will give you more years of life on this earth, like He did Hezekiah
when he pleaded. Just, don’t be asking Christ for a miracle to keep dealing
with the Devil.
