Who are we listening to?

“To the radio,”. . .  “To the TV,” . . . “To the doctor,” . . . “To the politicians,”. .  .“To the experts,”. . .         “And how do we know they are saying the truth?  Is there enough evidence to guarantee their reason?”

Smart people want to corroborate things they hear every day. Some care to know, and some others could care less. It all depends on their different interests, like everything in life. That is why some people do things for love to their careers, like the doctors who comply with the Hippocratic Pledge, others in their integrity and honesty; when others in their own selfish interest, or frivolous act.

I do not usually talk about any specific occurrence blaming someone because I do not like to accuse anyone by name; that’s for our heavenly father to do. I do criticize, or draw attention to facts due to their consequences, and let the guilty know they should change to correct him/herself, but in this case I’m going to make an exception and make a good comment on a movie I saw last night on Netflix, because it portrays, exactly, the way things would happen if there were to be an announcement of such a magnitude and intense proportion today as it happened there. And the funny thing is how some characters seemed so much like real people we have around; my husband and I identified some of them using their real names. I would like to congratulate the producers of the movie because when I thought that the movies had lost value when they had banned God (our Creator) from the drama as being usual in this country, and started to show wrong issues as something “very normal to all society”, not caring for the people who delight in the Lord and want their children to live free of evildoing, this particular movie showed that at the end the main characters came to their senses and did what they were supposed to. The movie shows how the media nourishes foolishness as something special and disregard important issues censuring them as incorrect, and whoever believes in them as outlaws, and we all know exactly who are the ones who do that. The truth is that when things start to seem bad, when people start to realize that the ones who had been filling their ears with lies do not have a solution for the existing problems but to use all they have gained (lying to them) to pay their way out of the “storm”. . .yet, there’s no more room in Noah’s Ark. In the film they did avoid “the storm” momentarily, and even offered “safety” joining them to the ones who told the truth. Those did not accept, though, for they decided to do what they had learned from relatives who told them how to behave if you want to do rightly: “if you did wrong, ask for forgiveness and respect the family which should be first institution in any society, as God intended. Of course, the ones who used their fortune to avoid the “storm,” did avoid it, but when they returned, they arrived at something worse; because the ones who decide to live without God are going to have a worse ending.  Evildoers will be cut off, but those who wait for the Lord will inherit the land. (Psalm 37.9)

The Holy Scriptures, the Bible, God’s Word, or whatever you want to call it, is the one which says the truth. It is NOT a religion book. It is a testimony about what happened at the beginning so we understand how we have arrived to what we are now thanks to the disobedience and the bad choices we make thinking that “we know better” and “God is incorrect for not letting us do whatever we want.” It so happens, that He gave us free will.  And if we are now falling, is precisely for imposing our desires as good, something that wasn’t His intention, but our failure. If Eve (the first woman) had listened to Him . . . but she rather believed the serpent and that made us ALL mortal, subject to death. There is NONE righteous, not even one . . . There is NO FEAR of God before their eyes . . . for all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God.  (Romans 3.11, 18, 23)

But since we are God’s creation and He loved us so, how could it be he wouldn’t have a “Plan B” to make us worthy of The Father? And for that reason He sent His only begotten son, Jesus Christ to pay our debt and cleanse us of all sins, by only believing in Him, so no matter what happens in this earth, He will always be there for us and with us: For the Lord loves justice and does not forsake his godly ones; they are preserved forever. (Psalm 37.28)   God wants us all to be safe and have everlasting life; but many have decided to believe the ones who are lying to them.

The Lord says in the Bible that in the “last days” people would be calling the bad things as “good,” and the good things as “bad.” And that is one of the signs we are living in those days. Another is that those days would be like Noah’s days when the earth was corrupt in the sight of God and was filled with violence. (Genesis 6.11) But we know that if we trust in Him, we won’t be ashamed: Abide in Him so that when He appears, we may have confidence and not shrink away from Him. (1 John.2.28)

In the times we are living now when many movies have a poisonous subliminal message it is nice to see one that advises the right thing to do. When Institutions tell you “Don’t Look Up” (to God, of course) we should answer with the Scripture: Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. (Colossians 3.2)
