Are we Christians allowed to get involved in political issues?

If we are followers of the doctrine of Jesus Christ and want to become more like Him, we know He did not get involved in those issues. That was precisely what the people of that time wanted, that He would throw off their yoke from the Roman Empire. Of course, He had God’s agenda to follow and nothing would interfere with it. He even said it: “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” (Mark 12:17). Our agenda, which is also God’s as Christians, is: “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” (Mark 16:15) But we are part of a society which, included in that agenda, we have to guide by lighting its path for we are “The light of the world” (Matthew 5:14). By being so, we are showing God’s “things” so whoever doesn’t know them can learn the truth which makes us free. (John 8:32). Paul, the apostle, also said: “All things are lawful for me, but not all things are profitable. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be mastered by anything. (I Corinthians 6:12)  Reason for which, we Christians should speak up for our rights.

If you were not born in the United States, What was the reason that brought you here? Actually I have been a Christian since I was born. By the grace of God, I was born into a Christian family and our aspiration was to come to the US, and study here. We had the privilege to do it, later on, though it was not the way we would have preferred it. Nevertheless we became US citizens and wanted to be free and live in a Christian nation, and under no circumstances are we going to let this be changed, if we can help it. Neither can we let our TRUE freedom be in anyway jeopardized by the ones who are loyal to Satan’s agenda which is to separate us, in a UNITED nation, by our different opinions.  In the politically crucial moment we are, I am not going to tell you who to vote for, but if you are smart enough and are truly educated about what you believe in, you can tell which of the candidates is following Satan’s agenda by promising everything that is against God’s and will end up trying to change everything to his favor which is making you and I pay for their extravagant vacations and for all the non-educated desires to go against God, in a country that had been successful mainly for being Christian. And if we go with Satan’s agenda, that is exactly what we’ll end up with. Forget the peaceful living, we’ll be destroyed as a great nation and will fall into chaos.

If you have not had the experience of the atheist COMMUNISM, like I have, or have read about it from a victim’s point of view you would not know that it is the devil’s most powerful arm to exploit people’s minds because it uses good causes to deceive you and control your freedom and that is the devil’s agenda. Of course, if you do not believe in God or the devil, you will not see it until you suffer it in your own flesh. Perhaps that is what has to happen in order to unite us. God is the only one who can punish us for our denial of him, and for that we are asking His forgiveness and begging him to give us a little more time. If my people who are called by my name ( Christians?) humble themselves and pray, and seek my My face and turn from the wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land. What Moves us?

What Moves us to say things? What Moves us to do them? What Moves us to think one way or another? There are many answers to these questions, and they could be, for instance: need, love, deeds, goodness, progress; or it could be hatred, greed, envy, selfishness, interest. It all comes down to two things; it’s either the good or the bad that moves us. For us, Christians, it is either the fruit of the Spirit or the deeds of the flesh.

During these campaigning days for the presidency of the United  States we have been bombarded with all kinds of ideas from the candidates so the people could get to know them and make up their mind whom are they going to vote for. It has been heard so many good and bad things of each of them that might make people wonder how to act. That is why we have to be moved by whatever we think appeals to us, in order to take action. I am pretty sure nobody wants the person that is going to be bad for the country, but how do we know who would that be? In this instance we have the advantage of knowing one candidate and that experience can tell us something about him. The Scriptures says: For there is no good tree which produces bad fruit . . . For each tree is known by its own fruit. . . The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good (Luke 6:43a, 44a, 45a) But most of the time we are blinded because our own interest which is stronger than goodness and we do not measure the goodness for the whole nation. But God does, and He knows the heart of everyone; and we are praying that the best one wins.

Of course whoever is the best for one is the worst for the other and we are never going to agree. That is why we have to pray that in everything the will of God prevails and let Him be the One who wins. If we are moved by God’s will we should pray with wisdom and that is humbling ourselves as King Asa once did when the Israelis (a few thousand warriors with shields and spears, and some with bows) had to fight against a million Ethiopians (better armed, and with chariots)  and won., for there’s nothing impossible to God:

“Lord, there is no one besides You to help in the battle between the powerful and those who have no strength; so help us, O Lord our God, for we trust in you, and in Your name have come against this multitude. O Lord, You are our God; let no man prevail against you. (II Chronicles 14:11)
