Have you heard the calling?

Many people think that if they have not ever gone to learn about God is because they have not had a calling, and if they do not feel they have been called, they just won’t go. That is a waste of time; whatever “justification” they use is really a way to delay the answering to that calling that God makes to us all the time, and a way to give priority to the adversary’s desire. In His revelation to John, Jesus said: Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him and he with Me. (Revelation 3.20)  The calling is not  just when we get invited to go to a church on a special occasion; or to listen to a good preacher; or read a blog like this one, or the Word of God; or to watch a great program on Christian TV. The calling might come in other different forms; even on hard problems of everyday life; or on what we hear in the news, on the radio, or in whatever happens in our surroundings. The calling comes in different packages of every size and colors and we do not have to be smart and creative to see and recognize it; the best way is to believe He’s calling, and we are ready to respond. This could be in the form of “helping our neighbor” or “not attacking him/her unjustly,” but more important is when we repent and ask Him for a new life.  Of course it all depends in how intense is our need to believe we have been called, in order to answer like that. If we’re satisfied with the way we live and nothing bothers when we, or others around us, are getting away with all kinds of doings just to get ahead no matter who we hurt or eliminate on the way, we’re probably not going to have a great need for it; but if what we’re doing makes us feel awful, thanks to our conscience, we are going to feel an emptiness in our souls and the need for a change.
That is why when someone answers a calling, we know a complete change has occurred. God forgets all the sins (past and future) and he becomes a new creature like He promised to his people: For I will be merciful to their iniquities and I will remember their sins NO MORE. (Hebrews 8.12)  So that means that when someone has sinned, the best choice is not making the tragic act of taking his own life, but the braver way is to repent, pay the dues, and ask for forgiveness in order to not live in agony for an eternity. If you destroy the possible Temple of the Holy Spirit you are, you become in contempt of God. To say “I’m sorry” might be hard, but it’s the only way you acknowledge your wrong doing meaning repentance, and much less harder to be in agony for an eternity.  God forgives us, no matter how bad we have behaved, if we truly repent, but there are some people whose “arrogance” will not let them feel shame on themselves and that makes them deaf to any calling from God that gives us the opportunity to be reborn which is the only way we could live eternally in goodness. And that is only possible through LOVE. Like its author’s friend John said: For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him does not perish, but has eternal life. (John 3.16)
So, God’s calling originates in His love for us, sacrificing Himself for our goodness.  So do not delay your answer and if you can’t hear it, ask Him for a sign. I guarantee you’ll get it, out of LOVE,  . . .LOVE is from God and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. The one who does not love does not know God for GOD IS LOVE. (Ist JOHN 4.7,8) Let’s show the world we are children of He who calls us. Let’s Love one another.
