Some people who are old might say “What future at my age?” I used to have an uncle who said there was no future because when one dies there’s nothing else. I guess I was a coward to correct him; perhaps to avoid quarreling, but he was wrong, and I hope he does not get scared when God resurrects him for the final “Day of Judgment” where everyone that ever existed will have to declare for his/her bad choices while on this earth (except the ones who repent NOW, honor His will, and accept Him as a Savior). That’s the future we have to plan for, and learn to be a good soldier to defend the Love of God who in his mercy paid our debt to cleanse us and made us worthy of a great eternity. (Hope God pardons my cowardice)
I am not talking about children’s future although theirs is a duty of whoever brings them up until they are older, and if it is not correct, the responsible party will have to answer, then. We must be extremely careful when we care for others (or simply look out on them) because any error they make due to our bad advice will count against us, for we would have attacked them, then. Jesus Himself said: ”It is inevitable that stumbling blocks come, but woe to him through whom they come! It would be better for him if a mill stone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea than that he would cause one of these little ones to stumble.” (Luke 17.1,2) We must be very careful what we advice others, or do any harm to them; agonizing in an eternity is not a joke.
Jesus, the only begotten Son of God, became human to mingle with us and teach us how to act in this fallen world (due to our disobedience). The human being was God’s most precious creation and He gave us the free will to not be subjects of the existing evil. But we decided to listen to “another creature” rather than to the Creator, reason for which we have failed and became slaves of evil and subject to Eternal Death. The “creature” that lied to Eve, the “serpent” which the devil used for being the most crafty beast, even though before that moment it was not poisonous, was simply a creature that man had to dominate, yet became cursed more than all the beasts of the field, to go on her belly and eat dust, to be an enemy of the woman, and so to the seed of both. The human will bruise her on the head, and she would bruise him/her on the heel (Genesis 3, 14-16)
That was God’s public humiliation over evil which ever since has been trying to overcome man’s intelligence by declaring him/her “stupid” for believing in something you cannot see. Actually, I think it’s the other way around. I really think it’s dumb not to believe in Air, just because you cannot see it, though you can see its effects. Thanks to it we can breathe and live, and the benefits of everything in our planet which was carefully designed by our Creator for our benefit. He also planned for our future life with Him, and that is why he sent us a redeemer to pay for our faults so that whoever believes in Him shall not perish (John 3.16c). We did not see Him then, but we see Him now, in everything we experience despite the world’s evil subjects, the “smart ones”, whose pay will be wealth, pleasure and power on a finite life, like the ones some get on this earth which will come to an end thanks to having disobeyed our Creator, Who grants us life.
Evil has also tried, from the beginning, to hinder all attempts of God on redeeming us, sinners, for eternal peace with Him. That is why evil has tried to destroy, always, the chosen people, for God’s Savior was to be born there, but it has not been able to, despite all the horror it has put them through, like when Herod killed all Jewish children, and the many other times that race was tried to be eliminated. Nevertheless Jesus was born, lived with us and paid our debt, thus his task in the first coming was accomplished despite Satan.
Now He is giving us the opportunity to repent, no matter our many sins, but when He returns, it will not be as easy for the ones who insist ignoring His power. I pray that many realize on time, and be wise enough to ask Him to be included in The Book of Life, and become a blessed person.
God spoke through the prophets, and there is one of the greatest who said: “Come now and let us reason together,” says the Lord, “Though your sins are as scarlet, they will be as white as snow, though they are red like crimson, they will be like wool. If you consent and obey, you will eat the best of the land; but if you refuse and rebel you will be devoured by the sword.” Truly, the mouth of the Lord has spoken. (Isaiah 1, 18-20)
