Living it to the Max

A great famine invaded a world in a far away solar system. Due to a political, economical and spiritual crisis all of its inhabitants were passing away. Two friends who were neighbors and had families heard about a wise man who gave away a type of food that gave life to the hungry. They decided to look for him and ask for help. When they found him, he gave them each a small container, the size of a shoe box full of bread in the form of little balls, and told them, as a condition, that they were to give one to anyone who asked for them. On their way home, there were many people who pleaded for bread to save their life, and one of the two men always opened his box while the other hid his for he did not want to waste any of the little bread balls since he had a family to feed. When they finally got home after a very long trip, the one who hid the box hurried away before he was asked to share the food, knowing that his friend had given it almost all away. But in the rush, he tripped, the box fell open and all its contents rolled out far away while he cried and cursed.
“Do not worry” said his friend. “I will share with you.”
He mocked him between tears thinking that the box was empty and that their endeavor had been in vain, but what a surprise when his friend opened the box and found it to be filled to the top. His friend gave him all that he wanted knowing that he was doing the wise man’s will. He realized that if the wise man gave out to all who came and always had plenty more to give, the same thing would happen to him. He learned to live it to the max; food was never scarce in his home.

Living it to the max is not difficult at all if that is what you want to do. All you have to do is to make the choice. If all you want to do in life is to have fun all the time so that there is no time for anything else, and if you are willing to accept the consequences, perhaps you would not do anything differently from what you are now doing. In the end it will be the same thing as now forever and ever. It’s like riding one of those super fast, very high, revolving roller coasters which are so dangerous, yet so attractive. You want to ride them forever and ever. But by the third round you feel nauseated, have a headache and a deadly anxiety to get out of something which you have no control over, and there is no way back out. How horrible it would be to spend an eternity that way!
There are countless opportunities to choose to live with wisdom, surrounded by love from your dear ones and to enjoy the good life that our Creator meant for us in peace, smiles and well being for ever. This is guaranteed to anyone who decides to follow the wise man’s will which gives out the abundant life God offers us. Not the “wise guy” who has to subdue people in order to get rich and look to benefit himself and his own. If you want to follow the true Wise Man, our Creator, get in touch with him and ask for the food that will never perish nor ever lack and He will give it to you. Live it to the Max.
